I have been an Executive Legislative Assistant for the Missouri House of Representatives for 10 years and currently work for Representative Shamed Dogan. I honestly started working for the government by happenstance. My daughter was a Political Science major at a local university and interned in the House. I was working at a local Catholic school when she came home one day and said, "I think you would love this job.". She suggested I interview for it and I did. The rest is history!

I have been in executive administration since high school, and much of what I know is self-taught and has been learned by way of experience throughout the course of my professional career. As far as formal education and training, I participated in the Staff Fellowship Program through The American Legislative Exchange Council, the Administrative Professionals Webinar, and attended various conferences, one having been through the American Society of Administrative Professionals and Leadership.

The biggest challenge for me throughout my career has been receiving equal recognition for the same job as my male counterparts. Thankfully, because I am up for the challenge and always give 200% in everything I do, I have risen to the top.

I am a very dedicated and loyal person and fully committed to my job and motherhood. I am also organized and task oriented.

My greatest accomplishment has been raising 4 individualistic and accomplished children.

As I approach retirement I am looking to do more volunteering and advocacy focusing on my passions, which include animal welfare and women's issues. I plan to move toward that direction through participating in many organizations and I may relocate Kansas City. If I do not move I would like to remain in the Legislature, on a part-time basis, focusing on legislative issues.

I am a person who loves to serve others. I have always been one to take care of everyone else before I take care of myself, and I am ok with that. 

I want to be remembered for being compassionate, honest, and respectful, and for treating everyone equally and fairly.

I love sailing and am a certified sailor. I also love animals and spending time with my family.
