I was looking for a job and a career path, and started part-time with the Government in the IRS entering the data from tax forms. Eventually I found full-time worked and held various positions with increasing responsibilities and using the new skillets I was acquiring. 

I had a background doing secretarial work and plenty of experience as I worked my way up the chain. 

The biggest challenge was first landing a full-time position and then weathering the furloughs until the union stepped in to make some rules. 

I am great at talking to people as well as listening to them - truly hearing what they say! I am eager to help people and even teach them so they can advance in their own careers and I am a collaborator. 

I am enjoying retirement and travelling with my husband and don't intend to make any long term goals! I am hoping to enjoy the time for the immediate future and continue to travel without being on a schedule. 

I had a lot of good management over the 27 years up until and including my last role in the Department of Labor. They were willing to push me forward and encouraged me to keep reaching. They were great mentors and inspired me to pay it forward. 

A good friend, a good listener and as someone who was always eager to help - an succeeded in helping those who needed to be kept on the right path. 

Travelling I have been most recently on a cruise through the Panama Canal  and visited Aruba, Cartagena and Costa Rico.
