I have been a Marketing Professor in higher education for 11 years. My career in consulting was inspired by the experiences public speaking. I am intrigued by seeing that "light" go on for people when public speaking and validated that the knowledge I have is something of value to others. Today, I speak at conferences and provide training to individuals and employee groups. I focus mainly on marketing related topics.

I have always been comfortable presenting and public speaking, however I am where I am today mainly because of experience. The time I spent in the classroom addressing students definitely enhanced my career.

My biggest challenge is keeping the enthusiasm and staying on the cutting edge.

Among my greatest strengths are my experience, my background, and my empathy. No one in my family had a high school diploma, so I understand and appreciate the process and importance of relating to diverse groups of people.

My family is my greatest accomplishment. Second to that, I am most proud of earning my PhD from the University of Alabama and being the first African American to graduate with a PhD in Marketing from the university.

My professional goal is to continue to grow my consulting business and to do more public speaking. I also have aspirations of writing a book.

I want my legacy to be that of inspiration. I want to be remembered for encouraging others and helping them to achieve things they never thought possible.

I am Advisory Board member of Tulane University and a Board Member of The American Advertising Federation.
