Tina DiBenedetto, Esq.
About me
I specialize in Workers' Compensation and Civil Litigation. Over the past 12 years, I have tried and argued over 100 cases at the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission.
About my company
Our firm does defense work for large, self-insured companies and insurance companies. We deal primarily with wrongful determination and other employment issues.
I chose this career path because
I decided to go into the legal field because I wanted to be an advocate for others and I felt that employment law was a good fit for me.
I prepared for this career by
JD - Chicago - Kent College of Law
Licensed to practice in Illinois and North District since 1998
The biggest challenge I've overcome
My biggest challenge has been being taken seriously in the Worker's Compensation Law field, as it is predominantly male; it is an "old boys school". I recall in the early years of my career actually being referred to as a "skirt" in court.
My greatest strength(s)
I am strong, confident and a great advocate. I can empathize with people and obtain a true understanding to help resolve issues.
My greatest accomplishment to date
My greatest accomplishment is being the mother of 3 wonderful children and 3 wonderful step-children.
My personal/professional goals
My professional goal is to grow this firm and acquire new clients. I am an active participant in the Risk Management Service Conference and meet new connections that way. My ultimate goal is to continue to prosper and watch my family grow.
What/Who has inspired me the most
I am inspired by seeing my family flourish. Second to that, I am inspired by my success in business and continuing to do well in the firm, while still finding balance between work and life.
I most want to be known/remembered for
I most want to be remembered as a strong woman who persevered through difficult obstacles and rose above them to then help other people grow and learn. I want to be remembered for being a good mother and role model for my children. I would also like it to be known that I helped create a more equal society, led by facts and not by predetermined, sexual perceptions of ability.
I participate in the following organizations/memberships
American Bar Association
Illinois State Bar Association
Workmen's Compensation Lawyers Association
I enjoy the following hobbies/interests
I enjoy going out to dinner, listening to music, going to spas, and getting manicures.
