I guess you could say that I happened into this field by accident! I began my career working the Psychiatric Ward, and found it to be very rewarding. Today I am a Registered Nurse, and a Licensed Psychiatric Technician.

In 2005 I entered into the field of Substance Abuse.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Health Management from American Intercontinental University and became a Licensed Psychiatric Technician through Social Model Recovery Systems, a Substance Abuse Treatment Center. Additionally, I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Addiction Counseling from Capella University.

My biggest challenge has been me. I have worked toward getting out of my own way, and building and maintaining my confidence.

I work well with people, I am a great listener, I am empathetic, and I am able to really connect with others.

My two children, ages 22 and 24, are my greatest accomplishment.

My goal is to continue my education and earn my PhD. I would love to own my own substance abuse practice, focusing on addiction counseling.

My kids are my daily inspiration, as well as my past, personal struggle with substance abuse, and witnessing members of my family battle addictions inspires me to do what I do.

I want to be remembered for all I was willing to do for people.

I am an Ambassador at Capella University and I mentor students there as well.

I take care of my Aunt who has Alzheimer's Disease and I donate to the March of Dimes.

I take dance classes in Country to Salsa.
