I knew I wanted to be an educator as a High School student. I originally wanted to be an elementary school teacher, however I studied Spanish and had an excellent teacher who developed my passion for the language, and I fell in love. I have retired as a secondary teacher and now am an adjunct professor at St Lawrence University.

I prepared for this career by getting my BA in Secondary Education in Spanish. I went on to receive my MA in Reading from the University of Madrid and spent one year living in Spain.

The biggest professional challenge I've overcome was learning to advocate for myself and putting myself out there. Personally, I am a breast cancer survivor, which has been quite a challenging journey.

My greatest strength is my ability to work with and have interactive discussions with anyone.

My greatest accomplishment to date is receiving an honorary doctorate from the International Biographical Center of England. I had started my doctorate on my own and couldn't finish but did receive it.

My professional goal is to be District Governor in Rotary, specifically in training.

My inspiration is working with people of all ages. Always being involved in education and serving people. I do mostly all volunteer work.

I most want to remembered as a passionate educator.

I participate in The SLC Chapter of NYS Women Inc. and I am a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the New York State Association of Foreign Language Teachers (NYSAFLT ).
