It is the mission of Pillar College is to inspire, equip and empower women for excellence in character, service, and leadership. We envision empowering women to discover, develop, and pursue their divine purpose by valuing God and our relationship with Him, self and others, and doing so in a spirit of excellence in order to become restored, transformed, and empowered.

I chose this career path because it is my passion. I want women to understand that education is the key to unlocking so many doors and bettering their quality of life. I am an advocate for women in education and encourage every woman to pursue college or certified studies. 

I graduated with an AA in Biblical Studies, B.A. in Theology and I am currently pursuing a B.A. in Psychology and Counseling. My formal training also includes Rutgers Family Development Credentials. Additionally, I earned a Certificate of Completion from Nyack College Alliance Theological Seminary and completed a 9-month Women’s Empower Program in Spiritual Formation.

Prior to my arrival at Pillar, I served as the Administrator and Director for Family Friendly Program at Babyland Family Services in Newark, NJ. I also served in state government for twelve years managing the day-to-day operations for the 28^th Legislative District Office.

My formal education and professional experiences combined with my passion for education and female empowerment has prepared me for the position I hold today at Pillar College.

I have found that my biggest challenge is having my voice heard. We live in man's world and being a woman at the table is not always easy.

My greatest strength is building women up spiritually and practically to be empowered.

My single greatest accomplishment is my daughter.

My professional goal is to measure my results against my personal best. 

I also started my own business, Shelly Speaks, which I want to grow internationally so that I may positively impact the lives women around the world.

I am inspired by God.

I want to be remembered for my work in making sure other people live the purposeful life that they were called to live.

I am a member of Church Women United and the NAPW.

I volunteer with Women in Domestic Violence, orphanages and I travel the country to empower women refugees.

I enjoy Starbucks, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
