I have had Penrose Educational Solutions since 2009. I am a thought leader for leader development solutions for student core, and teacher core achievement.

I started out studying to become a lawyer at Hastings Law School. During that time, I was also doing an internship at the Head Start facility and worked with children who did not know English, barely knew their home language and had no math skills. Through that I was inspired to go into teaching.

I attended California State University - Fullerton and received my B.A. in History and Economics and went on to obtain my M.S. Ed. in Literacy and Numeracy. It was then that I also wrote my own course of study in Numeracy.

I am a huge proponent of continuing education and I am currently pursuing my Ed.D., so that I may further my career with the institutional side of Education. 

The biggest challenge has been equity in pay. Male colleagues still receive higher compensation for the same experience, education and position.

My greatest strength is organizational leadership. I love being part of a collaborative team and I am very strong in transformational change management and professional development of educators. 

My two children are my greatest accomplishment. I have made balancing my family and career a top priority. Second to that, I also developed a program Focus Mathematics Intervention that I am very proud of. I was the author and coordinator and carved a new curriculum to help students (Pub. by Teacher Created Material, 2015)

I want to make a direct impact on educational policy and practice and be an architect for sustainable change - I have developed a specific marketing plan to that end. I also want to be in a full time position and more involved in the charter school sector, perhaps even a Superintendent of a School District.

Working with children who can't read or write inspires me to do more in providing an individualized education to make them more successful.

I want to be known as a champion for change. I want to be remembered as a passionate educator, wife and mother, and for my honesty, compassion, motivation, and high energy.
