I chose this career path because
I chose this career path because I have always been interested in the clinical sciences. I felt that professional nursing was a venue to touch individuals in a special way while engaging in the sciences. My desires to share information and mentor others were realized by engaging in nursing education.
I prepared for this career by
I earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Natchez Junior College in Natchez, MS, a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Jackson State University and a BSN in Nursing from Alcorn State University. I earned a MSN in Nursing (Nurse Educator) from Alcorn State University. I am also a certified nurse educator (CNE) under the auspices of the National League for Nursing. I am currently enrolled in the PhD Nursing program at University of Phoenix. I have been a Registered Nurse for 32 years and a nurse educator for 22 years.
My greatest strength(s)
My greatest strengths are my attention to detail, my organizational and planning skills, and my creativity.
My personal/professional goals
My professional goals are to continue in nursing education, engage in qualitative research and to mentor entry level and advance practice nurses.
What/Who has inspired me the most
I am inspired by the love and support of my family, my faith in God, and my commitment to excellence.

I most want to be remembered for my caring spirit.
I participate in the following organizations/memberships
I am a member of the MS Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, Eliza Pillars Registered Nurses of MS, the International Association for Human Caring, and Sigma Theta Tau.International the honor society for nursing.
I am also a member of New Zion #1 Baptist Church in Natchez, MS where I am secretary of the Mothers' Board. I am treasurer of the Adams County Ministers' Wives and Widows.

I support the missions of these charities/volunteer my time
I participated in two medical missions to Honduras in Central America. I participate in/support God's Angelic Warriors (a local breast cancer support group). Serve at the Stewpot in Natchez with Eliza Pillars Registered Nurses of MS. Enjoy supporting my husband in his ministry.
I enjoy the following hobbies/interests
I enjoy listening to classical and gospel music and love to watch movie classics.
