I chose this career path because
She has been in the industry for 32 years. She spent 15 years working with the government and has had her business for 17 years. She trains and develops food and safety programs for the food and beverage industry. She worked for the Canadian government and then decided to start her own business since she wanted to contribute. Her company is a Registered Training Center British Retail Consortium.
I prepared for this career by
She has a diploma in Food Science, a Certification as a Wheat Food Inspector, Certified Auditor for Canada approach for food safety.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
Her biggest challenge has been training people to understand their responsibilities. She needs to be creative to do this.
My greatest strength(s)
Her greatest strength is being able to train people in a language they are able to understand and earning the respect with government agencies that manage food.
My greatest accomplishment to date
Her biggest accomplishment has been being able to make a difference in the food industry.
My personal/professional goals
She wants to train the industry and move them in the requirements for preventative control and plan to get prepared for Canada Food and Safety Act.
What/Who has inspired me the most
She is inspired by doing what she loves, she has a great staff and they all share the same vision.
I most want to be known/remembered for
She wants to be remembered as someone who make a difference, she helped contribute to the food industry and was successful with compliance and food safety issues.
I participate in the following organizations/memberships
She participates with Canadian Wheat Council, CFIA and GFSI.
I support the missions of these charities/volunteer my time
She supports Palliative Care, and the local hockey teams.
I enjoy the following hobbies/interests
When not working she enjoys spending time with family, walking, swimming and reading.
