I chose this career path because
I studied commerce and logistics in college. I was picked up by the IronOre Company of Canada as part of a graduate development program. They hired me for a three month project and I was fortunate enough to get that extended for two additional terms. I went on to another company where I became a senior buyer until IOC hired me permanently. I've been with IOC for 15 years now, where I report to Rio Tinto, managing a team of six working on a 90 million dollar procurement project.

I've earned a SCMP designation and am certified by the Institute for Supply Management.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
There are very few females in my field, especially in management. This means I have to work a lot harder to prove myself.

I am very knowledgeable in my field. I am very good at managing people.
My greatest accomplishment to date
I am proud of the fact that I've been able to fully familiarize myself with all the necessary processes involved in this industry. I manage a wonderful team of people.
My personal/professional goals
I would like to move up into a logistics leadership role in supply chain management, and more on the operational side of the business.
What/Who has inspired me the most
I am lucky to have had a supervisor who took the time to train me and get me up to speed in order to move forward in my position. I also have a wonderful boss who has had great confidence in me and my work.

I would like to be remembered for making an impact and driving down costs within the company.
