I chose this career 35 years ago when I came to Canada from Nigeria. My original plans were to get an education to help the education system in Nigeria. Nigeria wasn't safe so I engaged in helping to educate people and international students. My academic focus area is Sociology.

I prepared for my career through experience, teaching, learning a lot from students and the general community. I did receive a Master of Science in Agricultural ans Education Services from University of Guelph and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Sociology from University of Toronto, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

My biggest challenge is that I miss home and the different cultures.

My greatest strength is my three children. They are respected people for who they are, accomplished and have a positive attitude.

My greatest accomplishment is surviving the system, I became a full-time Professor in 2007 and commended by the United Nations for the project in Nigeria to combat human trafficking and forced labour. I worked with 4 African countries to help women, empower them and work on production of crops in Ethiopia to encourage the people and help them.  I brought back my experiences and shared them with my students and the community.

My personal goal is to return to Africa, set up a shelter for women who are abused, educate them , give them training and encouragement.

I am inspired by my mother who passed but she was determined that I go to school, get a solid education, raise a good family and help others. She was resilient and I was her only child.

I want to be remembered for providing the support to a number of graduate students, my research and being published.

I am a International Board Member Social & Economic Rights Action Center, Saskatoon Open Door Society, the International Women of Saskatoon and the Canadian Federation of University Women.

I received the 2017 Nigerian Canadian Association of Saskatoon  meritorious award for my service, dedication and commitment to the community.

I support the Board of Immigration.

I enjoy listening to music and the movies.
