I chose this career in education because I wanted to be a positive role model. I began my career as an elementary education teacher and have since held the position of principle for 14 years. I focus on early childhood and elementary literacy, educational technology and leadership. I serve as director of development, implementation, evaluation and revision of curriculum for grades K-6 in my current role.

I received a Doctorate of Education from Hofstra University, a Master's degree in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University Teachers College and Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from Hofstrra University.

My biggest challenge is the glass ceiling for equal opportunity. It is difficult to know if you're looked at for your merit or a good reputation.

Mt greatest strength is helping others to achieve their goals and supporting other women.

My greatest accomplishment is my daughter. She is a great person and knowing that I am part of making that happen is such a rewarding feeling.

My professional goal is to move up in my career, possibly an Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum or look at other opportunities as an entrepreneur in helping others to do the same. 

I am inspired by a great group of women I met in college. We have been involved in Malik Melodies Sisterhood, Inc. which is a non-profit professional women's leadership organization with strong women, having the same core values and being there to help others.

I want to be remembered as someone who inspired others to be their best self, even if it is for just one thing I said or provided for them.

I am the President of Malik Melodies Sisterhood Inc. I am on the Board of  the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Suffolk County. I am a member of  the Education Honor Society, Phi Delta Kappa. I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.,  Zeta Nu Omega Chapter.

I was the Nominee for Lifechanger of the Year 2016-2017 and received the Phil Delta Kappa Friends of Education Award.

I volunteer with the Malik Melodies Sisterhood Inc.

I enjoy photography, seeing Broadway shows, dinning in the city and going to concerts.
