Flanagan's is the largest Canadian owned, independent foodservice distributor in the country. From our early days as a food wholesaler, we've grown to provide full service to more than 6000 restaurants and foodservice operations across the province of Ontario. I am a people person, and so the Hospitality field was a natural fit for me. I am passionate about providing good customer service and a good customer experience. I have worked with different companies throughout my career, and have been with Flanagan Foodservice for 17 years, where I have been a Sales Manager for the last 5 years.

While I did take business-related course work through Conestoga Community College, most of my preparation and training has been on-the-job. Additionally, I hold a Certificate for FoodSafe and a Certificate for Health and Safety.

I have to say that the food service industry as a whole, and my company, are male-dominated - especially in leadership positions. With that said, as a woman, it has been challenging to earn a seat a table and have my voice heard. 

My greatest strengths include my communication skills and my passion for excellent customer service. I am also very knowledgeable about the food service industry and our products.

My greatest accomplishment has been getting where I am, both personally and professionally, on my own. Personally, I raised my children and bought my home without any help and for that I am proud. Professionally, the fact that I continually develop new skills to advance my career is an accomplishment.

My goal is to retire in the next few years, but remain in the food service industry in a role that is less stressful and less demanding. I want to be somewhere that I can still be in touch with people and food, but also focused on myself and my time-freedom.

I am a determined person and my own independence inspires me; I fear the thought of not maintaining my independence.

I want to be remembered as a kind person and, wherever possible, that I connected to the community. I started a division in Flanagan's, and I am Chair of the Superior Service Culture Committee, aimed at helping the community through various non-profits.
