My husband and I always traveled a lot and our friends always wondered how we could afford and experience such exclusive and unusual vacations! We decided to start a blog, Meals and Miles and began putting pictures of our vacations on different social media platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook and included reviews on restaurants. I was approached by a woman who asked me to be a travel agent for InteleTravel and upon my research I found that they were partnered with some great companies in hospitality. As the owner of Meals and Miles, I am an official Travel Agent with InteleTravel, and our site has grown from a blog to a full-time business!

I prepared extensively through by own experiences and thorough training programs. I continue to educate myself through training and attending workshops hosted by various hotel, tour and and cruise companies. I have obtained many certifications throughout the course of my career.

My biggest challenge is balancing work and life. I am passionate about what I do, but I have a 15 month old that I also want to give my undivided attention to.

I am a nerd who loves to do research and find answers, and that works to my advantage because the more informed I am, the more informed my clients are. I also am very patient and I understand the individual needs of my customers.

I am very proud that despite coming from a single parent home, I never let anything stop me or get in the way of me and my dreams. 

This year I rebooted my business, and my goal is to continue focusing on it and growing it. Once my business is fully established, I also would like to travel full-time. My ultimate goal is show people that you can travel on a modest income!

I am from  Chattanooga, TN and I grew up thinking that going to Georgia, which is an hour and a half away, was a vacation. Then I went to Disney World and that changed my perspective. Many African Americans either cannot afford travel, or they just do not, and I am inspired to give more African Americans the opportunity to travel.

I want to remembered as a woman who inspired other women and African-Americans to do more than just what is presented to them.
