I am an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery Divisions at Stanford University.

The study of Genetics is very common study in my country and I was curious to find out more. I wanted to help cure people.

I received a Master's Degree in Genetics, and a Ph.d in Human Genetics

It can sometimes be challenging for me because I am the only woman in the department. I work in a male dominated field of research and they feel that women can't contribute there knowledge in the same ways as they can. The collaboration aspect is very different.

I am a woman who comes from a war torn country and I am compelled to mentor our young female's who want better opportunities for themselves. It is very important to be a role model for minority women, especially in Science, and I am a strong mentor.

Being given the opportunity to be a professor at Stanford University is a huge accomplishment. 

I want to help sick people in general. 

I am hoping to do more to contribute to my legacy. I want to be known as someone who never gave up. I want to be remembered for being a positive role model for women in science.

Involvement with my children's school.

I enjoy hiking, cooking, and spending time with my children.
