I chose this career path because
My mom told me a story about a former teacher who once told her she was "not smart enough" and recalled how that moment impacted her and turned her away from school. My mom's negative experience with education actually inspired my career in education; I wanted to encourage and inspire students.
I began my career as a High School teacher and taught at the high school level from 2008 - 2010. My Dad owns ATA College and I was encouraged to teach there. I now teach Success Skills (similar to college prep) and English.
I prepared for this career by
I earned my Bachelor's degree with a minor in English from Murry State University. In addition to my formal education, I am also earned the following certifcations through Hay House - Reiki Master Level I , Akashis Level I and Angel Intuitive.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
The biggest challenge I have faced is falling in love with myself and extending that to other relationships.
My greatest strength(s)
I am best at giving other people confidence and motivating others.
My greatest accomplishment to date
I feel my biggest accomplishment was when my father was diagnosed with lung cancer for the second time, I was able to refocus him into believing in his own personal power. So far he is cancer free. I am also very proud of the contributions I have made to the ATA College and the public, regarding the education and awareness of Eastern Medicine and the teachings of Louise L. Hay.
My personal/professional goals
While Western medicine is great, I would like to see more of a focus on holistic medicine. My goal is continue to encourage the study of Eastern Medicine at ATA College, and to continue to teach all of those interested about the importance of holistic medicine and healing the mind, body, and spirit.
In February of 2018, we will begin offering a weekly workshop, opened to all students, aimed at teaching empowerment towards improvement. I will also be moving towards Eastern Medicine and plan to create a syllabus for it along with my Success Skills courses.

My own journey inspires me. Every time I overcome my own obstacles and tackle my own goals, I find it exhilarating.
