About me
My name is Mary Metcalfe. I am an Australian citizen, born in Budapest, Hungary; (left Hungary during the 1956 uprising, a refugee) now resident in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. I am a widow. I was married to Alan Metcalfe since September 1965 till February 2017. We have one son, Clayton & two grandson's Laszlo and Liam. Professionally, I am a company director, secretary, and chief financial officer (CFO) of Metcalfe Holdings Pty Ltd (MHPL) since 1970; Jandol Pty Ltd (1995); Harp Bankers Brokers & Traders (HarpBBT) – 1990; and associated companies: Internet Business Systems, Inc. (IBS) – 1999; and Safe Worlds Internet Television, Inc (SWITV) - 2010. MHPL is our Australian-based family holding company. HarpBBT is our Australian operating entity specializing in public company startups. Since my husbands passing I am now President/CEO of all these companies
Previously, I have founded and acted as the Publisher of a Woman’s Magazine in Australia, and have been the CFO for the North Australian Film Corporation. In the 1970’s and 1980’s, I also had 12 years involvement with Australian politics where I was the Northern Zone Vice President of the National Party of Australia (Women’s Section) for five years.
About my company
My primary business interest is as an active member of the management teams of our companies. IBS and SWITV are US corporations established by MHPL/HarpBBT to exploit the Safe Worlds e-business and IPTV technology developed by my late husband Alan Metcalfe, who was a leading Internet/e-business system designer since 1984. MHPL has controlling shareholdings in IBS and SWITV. The principle focus of our business for the past 20 years has been on electronic business (e-business) and more lately, on Internet Television (IPTV). Our major project, the Safe Worlds TV and e-business system/platform which is being developed to operate as a private and secure alternative to the World Wide Web for business; and provide a way for the world economy to move into cyberspace. We have been planning to go to Initial Public Offering (IPO) and public listing of SWITV and I am actively involved in this effort.
I chose this career path because

My education has been life, self taught through practical experience.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
I have confronted most challenges in life that have come my way and achieved all that I set out to do to the best of my ability. My belief is: "Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail" and "Life is a journey, not a destination" quotes from Ralph Waldo Emerson. Now I am challenged to establish our Safe Worlds TV project without my beloved husband, only time will tell how I will overcome this challenge.
My greatest strength(s)
I have great tenacity and show great work ethic in all that I do.
My greatest accomplishment to date
There have been many positive achievements in my life, but to be able to support my husband and family throughout both good and difficult times are the most important to me. We stuck together as a family regardless of what we faced, whether in business or other challenges in life, we did whatever was required in order that we move ahead.
My personal/professional goals
Both my late husband and I are looking forward to having our business Safe Worlds TV blossom exponentially.
What/Who has inspired me the most

My mother who inspired a certain style/elegance and the love of the Arts.
