Mary Fagan is the Customer Engagement Partner for Business Development & Strategy at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. 

She is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing enterprise-wide customer engagements which includes existing and new IDS-wide customer relationships.  She assumed her current position in January 2012.

Prior to this position, Mary was the Trade Show and Events Manager in the Business Development organization at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems.

She joined Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems in May, 2003. Prior to joining Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems Mary was the Trade Show and Events Manager in the Business Development organization in the C3I business of Raytheon Company.

Mary started her career at Raytheon Equipment Division in October 1969 and has been in the Aerospace industry for 46 years.

Mary is a 2003, 2006, and 2007 recipient of the Raytheon IDS President’s Award.  Mary is a Meeting Planner International member (MPI)

I chose this career path when I started in business development over 40 years ago because I connect with people and enjoy working with people and I am willing to try any challenge.

I prepared for my career by taking coursework in management, leadership and continuous education. I am a Meeting Planner International member, taking courses to keep up with the meeting planners around the world and try and think out of the box so we can come up with new ideas in the industry. Also have taken the Front Line Leadership Course and Diversity Course at Raytheon.

My biggest challenge is being a woman and getting promoted to the next level.  The glass ceiling has not really helped in the aerospace industry.

My greatest strength is communicating with people and dealing with the culture differences internationally.

My greatest accomplishment was receiving the "President's Integrated Defense System Award" which there were 16,000 people in the division in 2008, and the President of the group picks "one person" who has accomplished key areas of growth for the company.  Mine was growing the business by doing the trade shows all over the world and continuing a relationship with our customers.

My professional goal is to continue in my role of customer engagements.

I am inspired by my mother. I have two sisters and my mother always taught us to do the best we can and be independent.

Bringing up my two grandchildren.  They both have accomplished going to school, attended college and are both working in the community.  They are my world.
