I have been in the Automotive industry since 1984 after graduating college.

Upon graduating from college, entering the automotive industry was a logical, and common, career choice being that I lived in Michigan, the center of the American automobile industry.

In 1984, I started with GM as a security guard and built my career from there. By 2006, after a series of events and progressions, I had worked my way up to Global Chemical Director and was a Global Chemical Fellow. I love the industry and the work I do.

I received my MSA from Central Michigan University and I am currently studying to receive my Ph.D. in Business Global Leadership from Capella University. Throughout the course of my career I have taken courses through the Academy of Leadership and a multitude of independent courses on Mergers and Acquisitions, Conflict Management, and Inventory Management. I have also received plenty of one-the-job training and participated in several internal training courses and workshops.

My biggest challenge has been ensuring that people understand that my integrity and ethics come first, and that I am accountable for my team. As a high-ranking female I must set the pace.

Among my greatest strengths are my leadership skills. Everyone I have had the opportunity to work with has appreciated my leadership qualities. My boss has actually said, "Your team would follow you into a burning building.".

Another one of my strengths is my cultural knowledge and acceptance of other countries, which is important as a global leader in the company. I also have great skill in turning around business and a great sense of accountability, as I am responsible for 7 disciplines in my position.

In 2017, I was honored as one of the top 100 women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Production (STEP) and received the received the STEP Award.

In the near future I hope to be Chief Supply Chain Officer or CEO of the company. I am finishing my Ph.D. and working with an outside firm to be placed on some boards  in order to obtain my goal.

I would also like to mentor other women and continue to be involved in change management and transitioning.

My Dad and Uncle are my greatest sources of inspiration. My father influenced my strong work ethic and my Uncle influenced my perseverance and tenacity. My Uncle always said, "Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something." and that stayed with me.

I am also inspired by the love I have for what I do!

When I left a former position, my wonderful team gifted my a beautiful clock. Inscribed on that clock is what I want my legacy to be," A wonderful boss, leader, mentor, and caring friend".

I was on the Board of Junior Achievement, and I do fundraising for Accuride, who adopts military families to assist them. I also am involved with the Warrick Humane Society.
