I was always intrigued with the Arts. My mother encouraged me to explore art, dance, music and theater. I felt I could express myself best by painting. I married my painting instructor and moved. We were both offered positions at the University of Florida and by then I was focused on Art History. I became a non-tenured professor of Art History and he became a professor in the Studio Painting. Later, I became a Professor of Art History at Sante Fe Community College and retired in 2005 after 11 years. I was also the Gallery Director for the City of Gainesville Municipal Art Gallery. I am now a published author and I decided that having written so much non-fiction in my academic career, I wanted to write some fiction. I have published American River: Tributaries, book one of the American River Trilogy (Archway Publishers, 2017) and just completed the third book of the trilogy. Now, I started a book about climate fiction and the paranormal.

I received 3 degrees from the University of Ohio:BFA, MA in American History, and an MFA in art/art history.

The biggest challenge I have had to overcome is people's expectations of me as a woman and what I can handle. They did not expect me to handle having a baby, teaching and obtaining three degrees.

In Academia we are encouraged to specialize, but I am an intellectual journalist and enjoy tackling many areas in the Arts and have a strong ability to do so.

I feel my biggest accomplishment was becoming an educator and sharing what I know with other people.

I just want to continue writing and have more time to do research and write. We bought a new house and downsized in Gainesville and that will allow me the time and I started the new book on climate paranormal fiction. I just need more time to do the research and am currently researching fracking and I plan to cover seven different climate topics that are leading to Global Climate Disruption.

Curiosity inspires me. Being endlessly curios about the experience of LIFE and making the most out of it. I am inspired by so many ideas.

I want to be remembered as someone who was passionate about the world and vastly engaged with it. I want to be remembered for doing what I could to educate others and communicate with the largest audiences.

I received 2 awards from the Environmental Protection Agency for 2 exhibits; "The Great Alachua Savannah" and a traveling exhibit on a Local Superfund Site.

I enjoy reading , traveling and cooking. I also love eating good food and wine tasting.
