Thank goodness I have a life filled with love from my spouse, our families & grandchildren, culture & interesting & meaningful pass times. I have extraordinary work endeavours, including being the co creator & manager of a symphony orchestra (www.musicansoftheworld.ca). I wrote a book entitled; Sibling Loss: A Sister's Journey From Despair to Celebration, a first-person account of one of the most devastating and least talked about subjects: a child or young person’s loss of a sibling. It is the story of my own experiences starting over and healing from the trauma of losing my beloved brother and the grief and destruction such a loss caused our family. In September 2005, my husband and I started the Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra. I am Director and he is the conductor. We found immigrants who had played in great orchestras around the world & whom couldn t find a place to play in an orchestra in Montreal. We created the ensemble & have played in the last 10 years, over 85 performances for the Montreal public to enjoy. This was the first diversity project in Canada and the only orchestra of its kind as well here.  We hope other countries follow suit and create orchestras for everyone s pleasure with these talented musicians that are everywhere now.

I was always writing when I was young. I wrote my mother poems when I was under 10 years of age which I was amazed was quite good. I wrote for a gossip column in high school and subsequently for a newspaper when I lived in the Laurentians north of Montreal. My papers in school were always on display & was very proud of this.

However, I lost a brother when I was a teenager and the destruction it caused my family, inspired me to write about it to help me survive my ongoing distress and to hopefully help others. Overcoming my own set backs has always served as the driving force behind my inspiration to help others do the same when confronted with life's challenges. My primary path now is to help as many people as I can that have lost siblings. My book came out in print last May and with all the terrible killing in the US in particular, I believe my book can somehow help those who have lost children & siblings. The orchestra became a primary endeavour as I was fortunate in getting a financial management job for an ailing Chamber orchestra in Montreal. While there I learned how to manage an orchestra & my spouse is a conductor. His presence and talent surrounded my life with music. With our respective abilities, we embarked on the creation of the Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra; a paramount project of importance in our professional lives that is ongoing.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Concordia University and have completed many Master's courses towards my Master's in grief recovery. Additionally, I am Certified in Coaching through the Certified Coaches Federation. 

Having had the time to write about losing my brother and my journey of healing was the greatest gift. As well my spouse was completely supportive of this project which helped me immensely.

It seemed that everything was providing me the opportunity to write this much needed book; for me & others. The reviews exceeded my expectations and I know that somehow my experiences can benefit others as a result.

My biggest challenge was getting my book finished while raising a child that became mine when she was 2 years old, and surviving a marriage that was eventually ruined by the first spouse of my first husband. However with the time I became grateful for the wonderful gift of raising my daughter. I now have a beautiful little grandson as well as the wonderful grandchildren of my spouse Joseph!

I am unwavering about getting things done and I am both artistic and creative. The Lord was really good to me with my respective abilities so I have used them to the best of my ability.

Also remaining busy when I m not so young any more has retained a youthful countenance around me, & for this I am very grateful.

My most important professional accomplishment was founding and successfully managing The Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra.

The most important personal accomplishment was finishing and finally promoting my book.

A writer once said, build a house, raise a child, and write a book. I have succeeded in doing all three and am grateful for being able to!

My goal is to travel a great deal more as well as speak about and write about loss. In order to do that I need to be seen and heard, and am working on it.

It is in my nature to be inspired. I have a fascinating man in my life and wonderful interesting friends & family. They inspire me always, especially the children who are a reminder that we too were once perfect!

Starting in my youth, I read countless books on all subjects and reading great books of all types has fed my soul enormously and inspired me to write. I discovered that writing retains joy and can exorcise grief. 

I want to be known as someone who made a difference ... I want to be remembered for my kind and loving character. That would be wonderful!
