I am a Relationship educator, workshop leader, trainer, author, consultant, Marriage and Family Relationship Education and psychotherapist. In addition to developing the hallmark semester PAIRS Mastery Program, I have developed research-based one-day and weekend workshops, an eight session premarital and newlyweds class, PAIRS Road Map, Christian PAIRS, a Trilogy of PrePAIRS for Christian, Catholic and Jewish Marriages, PAIRS Basic for the Military, PAIRS For Life, and PEERS for Schools and Youth including PEERS Family Initiative Against Violence; A Facilitators Guide Curriculum taught at the University of Central Florida. I co-authored with Robin Rose Temple, MSW, and Donald W. Adams, PhD, "Couple Assessment, Counseling and Skills-Training from the PAIRS Perspective: Today's Technology Builds Tomorrow's Healthy Marriages and Stable Families", edited by Michele Harway in the Handbook of Couples Therapy, published by John Wiley and Sons 2005. I also co-authored the PAIRS Essentials curriculum in 2007 and TEAMS in 2005. PAIRS stands for the Practical Application of Intimate Relationship Skills.

I recently retired and my third son took over as Executive Director of the PAIRS Program and is putting together a 4 day curriculum in Florida.

I decided to go into clinical practice to help individual couples and groups through relation therapy. I was inspired to this by a psychiatrist and others in the field.

I prepared for my career by getting my MSW from Catholic University and my PhD. in Social Work from Summit University.

I have been helping people with relationships since 1975, which is challenging. Developing a graduate for future counselors proved to be very challenging and then trying to get the program to be taught allover in Graduate schools everywhere.

I am a great therapist.

My greatest achievement was developing the PAIRS program. I am very proud of the fact that I have taught thousands of people during my 40 year career. The fact that the program has been used in the military, and universities is really fantastic.

My goal is to make this knowledge broadly available to the young and middle aged and use it to prevent problems.

When I was 15 my dad died suddenly of a heart attack and then at 16, my mother died of cancer. The shock and loss that these incidents evoked put me in touch with my self and inspired me to help others.

I want to be remembered for the development of the PAIRS program and the books that I have published Love Knots (Amazon, 2000); Passage to Intimacy (Simon and Schuster, 1993); If You Really Loved Me.
