My career began in the pharmaceutical industry, and I found my passion to be developing people rather than developing drugs, so I went into leadership development.

I had been consulting in the field of leadership development for 20 years, when I started my company Wessels Group, Inc.  I am also an Executive Coach of the Global Institute for Leadership Development and I am an Adjunct Professor in the MBA program at the Lake Forrest Graduate School of Management and at Northwest University, teaching leadership development.

I received my MBA from Ambrose University and have a Healthcare Marketing Certification from Dartmouth University. I also studied to become a Certified Teacher of Movement Psychology through Newfield Stuart Heller Coaching Institute, a Certified Executive Coach through the Executive Coaching Institute and a Certified Master of Neurolinguistic Programming through the Chicago Institute for NCP.

The biggest challenge I had to overcome was competing in the pharmaceutical industry, which is heavily male dominated. I found I had to work twice as hard to prove myself, and watch as male counterparts received promotions and awards.

I have a weird ability to see patterns and I've learned to leverage that ability to identify patterns of weakness and strength in organizations. I see that everyone has their own uniqueness and I coach through the lens of leaders and help people recognize their own patterns. 

I feel my greatest accomplishment has been staying in business for 20 years through successfully learning how to ride the tide, and furthermore staying relevant and visible in this industry.

My goal is to continue to grow and expand my reach. I want to teach internationally and travel. I am looking for one or two organizations to become engaged with to increase my activity.

What inspires me is watching someone succeed by helping them realize their fullest potential and recognize not only their personal success, but the impact they make on society through their success.

I want to be remembered for having impact on people by creating better leaders.
