Laura Gesicki-Wood, M.D.
About me
Dr. Laura Gesicki-Wood completed her Allergy and Clinical Immunology fellowship at the University of Virginia Center for Asthma and Allergy. During her training, she focused on steroid-dependent asthma, chronic sinus disease, and urticaria, while conducting extensive research on eczema.
Prior to her subspecialty training, Dr. Gesicki completed her undergraduate studies as a Howard Hughes Fellow at the University of Virginia, earning a B.A. in both Biology and English. She was then accepted into the University of Virginia Medical School on full scholarship, where she later completed her lnternal Medicine residency.
Dr. Gesicki is a Board Certified Internist. She is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association. She has presented her research on eczema at national meetings. Her clinical interests include eczema, asthma, rhinitis/sinusitis, urticaria, and food and drug allergies.

The Accredited Allergy Center of Springfield is currently owned and operated by Dr. Laura Gesicki-Wood. Dr. Gesicki-Wood is a board certified physician who received her medical degree on full scholarship from the University of Virginia Medical School in 1999. She completed both her Internal Medicine Residency and her Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at the University of Virginia Medical Center in 2003 and 2005 respectively. In August of 2005, Dr. Gesicki-Wood joined the Accredited Allergy Center of Springfield. The Center was originally founded by Dr. Ronald Wilbur in 1976 and acquired by Dr. Gesicki in November 2006.
The Accredited Allergy Center operates with a patient-first philosophy and continues to embody the warm personal style of traditional medicine.

I chose this career path because it was a calling. I knew at the age of nine that I wanted to be a doctor.

I received my Medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and Fellowship from the University of Virginia.

My greatest strength is diligence and getting the answers for people who I take care of. I specialize in Allergy, Immunology and Internal Medicine.

I am inspired by every individual patient, the one on one interaction and team collaboration.
