I started my career on the floor of a GM Plant as a supervisor, and from there I kept taking the next logical steps. 

My preparation has been a hybrid of formal education, experience, and on-the-job training. My undergraduate degree was in Mechanical Engineering and I went on to obtain my Master's in Manufacturing Engineering. Throughout the course of my career I have taken various leadership development courses and became a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

Knowing when to speak up and understanding my place in a male dominated industry. The guys grew up with a much broader understanding of how cars worked, I come from a different perspective.  Unfortunately, it is not an easy task to be an assertive woman without being labeled the "B" word. 

I have always had a strong work ethic and I am a hard worker. I am a good listener who is able to see and understand the other person's point of view. I am also very analytical - I love details and interpreting where they fit in the big picture. 

Graduating with my Master's degree is something that I am most proud about. I had struggles as a student, but I never gave up. I worked hard and did whatever it took to get the grades and graduate. 

Professionally, I have taken a different direction and I am working on data and dashboards. I am working with creative people and helping to interpret the data and I really enjoy this. I would like to continue doing this to follow what's trending. 

My dad taught me to respect people for what they know. He said, "There's always somebody out there that knows more than you do and you can learn something from him.". He taught me that I could not depend on someone else to create my success and to take credit for my own accomplishments. 

I want to be remembered for being a kind woman with a good heart, who worked hard and never gave up.
