Ms. Stevens' high school typing teacher told her that she was a great typist and recommended that she choose a career in court reporting, because she was sure that her student would excel in the field. She helped her find a program, and she found her passion and career path.

With the help of her teacher, Ms. Stevens found a program at Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. that would enable her to receive the correct combination of typing and stenography training. She went on to receive her certifications in RPR, CMRS and CPE.

She says that, surprisingly, it is not working with the male attorneys that she finds the most difficult, but she finds her biggest challenge to be in working with their female counterparts.

Her greatest strengths are in her leadership skills and keeping her employees happy.

Her greatest accomplishment has been owning her company.

She recently acquired another company, so she is working towards strengthening and merging the two teams to make a more collaborative, comprehensive team.

She says her daughter has been an inspiration. She provides her daughter with a role model and is having her manage the office so she can eventually take the reins.

She would like to be remembered for her great passion for helping people. She also hopes to be remembered for always having an open door, and an ear to listen.
