I chose this career path because
I started out working for Disney as an hourly cast member. I have since been with the company for 18 years. I absolutely love working for Disney, it is such a fun company and every day is different! I truly enjoy taking care of people and our guests.
I prepared for this career by
I have a Bachelors in Music from Chapman University in Music Therapy . I also went through the Disney Leadership Development program, and have learned a great deal through experience.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
The nature of hospitality is long hours, weekends, and holidays, and as a result biggest challenge has been finding a balance between work and life.
My greatest strength(s)
Among my greatest strengths are my compassion, flexibility, reliability, and consistency. I am responsible for coaching about 175 cast members everyday, and the aforementioned strengths are are large part of the reason I am successful in doing so.
My greatest accomplishment to date
The difference I make in the lives of the people I work with. I also feel that I have enhanced our guests' vacations and have turned around many situations to make the outcome happy for everyone!
My personal/professional goals
This year at Disney there has been a significant organizational structure change in the theme park. I now have more autonomy and have the ability to make decisions on my own with less conferring with others.
I would love to stay with Disney, it is a great company. I would like to move up to Production Manager or Restaurant Manager. Keeping that in mind, I am developing more connections.
What/Who has inspired me the most
What inspires me most is that I can make a difference in someone's day and turnaround their whole vacation.
I most want to be known/remembered for
I want to be remembered as someone who was compassionate and made a positive impact on the people I worked with.
