I prepared for this career by
Currently, a pre-med student at the University of Hawaii System.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
As a United State Athlete competing in the sport of powerlifting, my greatest challenge that I overcame, due to my location, is that a large part of my training takes place without the assistance of a coach or spotters. The outcome is accomplishing my defined goals, in fitness and powerlifting, by winning championships.
My greatest strength(s)
I am self motivated, always work to the best of my ability and push through adversity, no matter what the obstacle. Desire, initiative, and discipline while motivating and empowering, obtain the necessary expertise to accomplish my goals and seek self improvement.
My greatest accomplishment to date
I am proud of my experience in representing the United States in the sport of powerlifting and winning the Gold in the Pan-AmChampionships (Open
Class), the Tournament of the Americas (Open Class), and the North American Championships (Masters Class), 48 kg. weight class.
•Athlete for Team USA, 2005 - 2010, competing internationally for the United States in the Sport of Powerlifting. •Powerlifting - 3rd in the World, Masters World Championships, 48 kg class, M1, Pilsen, Czech Republic, September 27, 2010. •Powerlifting - 6th in the World, World Championships, 48 kg. class, Open, New Delhi, India, November 2009. •Powerlifting - 9th in the World, World Championships, 48 kg. class, Open, Stavanger, Norway, November 2006.
My personal/professional goals
My professional goal is to become a physician and my high-aspiring goal is to become an Astronaut. My personal goals include starting a clothing company in Hawaii, producing workout videos and, writing a children's book and a generational, family history book.
What/Who has inspired me the most
Everyone has a story to tell, and I am forever inspired by the "underdog" whom shares their stories, with me, about how they conquered adversity and successfully moved forward in life.
I most want to be known/remembered for
I want to be remembered for being a United States Athlete and, for writing significant proposals for overcoming the adverse effects on the human body and implementing a new training methodology in relation to spaceflight.
