In the Pink is a non-profit (501c3) boutique serving women, men, and children with all types of cancer. This unique concept is the only one of it’s kind in the nation. We have everything in one location that the cancer patient will need during treatment.  It is our hope that you will be able to find what you need here. If not, please ask. Most often, we can assist you in getting something that we don’t know about yet! The cancer industry is ever-changing and we try to keep up, so please keep us informed if you hear about an item we may need to know about.  We appreciate your help in making us the best we can be.

A two time cancer survivor, I wanted to enable patients going through treatment and survivors to get what they needed to manage their cancer easily and in one place, a place where they could get not only their supplies, but some of the services they needed, whether it was a fitting,  a yoga class in a friendly space.

It was during my own treatment, I  quickly realized that it was really difficult to find everything I needed.  After all, when you are not feeling well, why should you need to drive all over town looking for the items you need, such as a wig, mastectomy products, hats, etc.? So I began keeping a notebook because I knew that I had to make this happen.

By training I am a speech and language pathologist and special needs assessment educator. When I founded In the Pink, I did what I needed to become a non profit, that paperwork took 9 months! I have been trained to become certified to do compression fittings for lymphodema patients and been trained and certified in many other types of fittings and services that cancer patients need. I became educated on insurance billing and even stepped into the legislative sector to see what needs to be done to eventually get insurance funding for some uninsured services we provide. I have had to learn about fundraising. 

The biggest challenge I face is fund raising , I had to learn how the process worked for obtaining major donors and corporate sponsors.

I am blessed with the gift of being able to talk to anyone., I joke and say I have never met a stranger! I am not shy and I am willing to step outside of my comfort zone in order to get things done, especially to help someone. I am a firm believer that you can conquer anything, especially fear. I was afraid when I got my cancer diagnosis, My mantra is "Just do It!"

Certainly the thrill of opening my first store front, Think Pink in Jacksonville. 

Ultimately I would like to see In the Pink stores around the world, and certainly around the country attached to Cancer Centers in every major city. I would also like to see a mobile unit available to people in outlying areas. I plan to keep my foot in my profession but, am seeing myself taking In the Pink to the next level.
