I always loved managing and leading people. I spent many years in the retail industry and when the long hours, especially around the holidays, started to take it's toll (I actually began to hate Christmas), I knew something had to change. After all as a mom of young children hating Christmas was not an option! So I switched gears and went back to school and for Human Resource Management and received my degree. 

I have an HR Management degree from Metropolitan State and have received my SPHR. In addition to the experience of working for a growing company and attending management seminars and executive meetings. 

On the personal side for me, it's always been about balancing an executive career and a family.  Professionally, it was gaining a seat at the executive table and earning the respect to have my voice heard. 

I am a compassionate leader who is able to transform and transition our employees, both original and new, to the company as we continue to grow and acquire new companies and their people. I have the ability to foster a culture that accommodates both the company and the employees with each seeing their own value. 

I am so proud to say that I have been at the helm of HR, as we have grown from 15 employees to 350 employees, and counting! I have seen my own HR department grow from me... to three with a fourth person on the way as I move further into an executive role.  And finally during this growth I have implemented the "Culture Club" for the company that will not only benefit and foster a great organizational culture, but one that will provide community involvement. 

I am taking on more of a leadership role, and am hoping to to be a Vice President in this young company within the next year. 

I have always been compassionate and love making a difference in people's lives. It comes from within because I always hope that if I can make a difference in one person's life - even just making someone smile fuels me to keep going. And, that is in every aspect of my life,  in my work with the company, in the communities I serve and as a volunteer. 

Leaving a mark for my company - that V-star stands for something - and that I was true to my values as a kind, compassionate person who inspired others to create what is inside of them.
