Janice Doreen Sherk is the VP of security at the United Parcel Service of America, Inc., the world’s largest package-delivery company. Ms. Sherk is an airline regulation and international brokerage operations expert who specializes in branch management, operations oversight, package care and program control. Ms. Sherk designs approaches that help the talented individuals with whom she works to take the best and most accurate measures in order to meet the company’s standard of excellence and provide top-quality service. 

In her role as VP of security at UPS, Ms. Sherk manages all branches, oversees operations, including loss and investigation, package care and programs, mentors others, and assists government agencies and plans and develops strategies. Ms. Sherk serves as a member of the National Air Security Training & Awareness Commission, and as Executive Co-Chairman of the United Way of Canada. With two decades of professional experience, Ms. Sherk continues to strive for excellence in every endeavor in logistics security administration.

Janice Doreen Sherk has maintained a long-standing interest in aviation security management. Inspired by her desire to make a positive impact in the field, Ms. Sherk earned an associate degree in business administration from Brock University. She went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree, as well. Ms. Sherk is a licensed broker, and after earning a cargo loss prevention certification, she was able to further her journey to success as an aviation security manager by advancing her proficiencies in loss prevention with a solid and secure background in retail loss prevention. Her proficiencies have given her countless opportunities to handle situations efficiently and avoid situations that would damage the company's image. 

Ms. Sherk intends to further her education and experience continued growth in the near future as she feels that she has been able to achieve her professional goals because she has remained determined, dedicated and steadfast in her concentration on her mission. Ms. Sherk serves as a mentor at a local youth club, and she enjoys spending time with her family. She is a recipient of the 2008 Thanks a Million Award. 

I advanced in my organization and climbed the ranks with UPS.

I prepared for this organization by being very focused and using proper time management.  I earned an associate degree in business administration from Brock University. I am a mother of three children.

My greatest strenghts are organization, time management and focus. 

My greatest accomplishment is implementing the programs for the international countries.

My goal is to have more responsibilities in the latin countries.

My father has been my greatest inspiration.

I most want to be remembered for being a good people person.

I participate in the Canadian Society of Custom Brokers.  I also participate in CCLA, NASTAC and United Way.

I have received the Thanks a Million Dollar Award from United Way.

I support the United Way.
