Hi everyone,

I'm Ivelisse Pagan, and I am from Puerto Rico. I was born and raised in a small town in San German, PR called Poblado Rosario at the west side of the island. I got my BBA with a major in Finance and a minor in HR from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. I have two boys, Gaby who’s 21 and in college to get a degree in Hotel Management and Many who’s 18 and in his first year at college for a BBA with a major in Accounting. 

I’m an introvert person and passionate about learning and teaching. When not working I love to spend time with my family, I like reading, hearing a variety of podcast and audiobooks. Every time I have the opportunity I volunteer to teach high school teachers on Peachtree and as a speaker on business-related themes to college students at the different campus of UPR. 

Currently, I’m working as a General Manager at Today’s Satellite Television, an Authorized Dish Retailer in PR. We have operations in PR and USVI. I’m working with a fantastic Team of managers and supervisors. I was promoted from a Financial Manager to this position in October 2016. From September 2010, up until now, I’ve been mentored by an incredible human been and professional who I also consider my friend. He’s been with me since early stages of my career at TST coaching and teaching me most of what I know about the business and management. Leading by example! 

Once I have accepted the challenge to become a General Manager, I realized I had to make a move to achieve another step uphill in my career, and it is when I decided to apply for my MS in Management. I genuinely believe that having experience in a corporate environment wasn’t enough for me to look forward to a higher level within the company and in my career. 

Recently on September 20th, Puerto Rico was impacted with one of the most devastating hurricanes. I think I have experienced the most difficult times personally and professionally. It’s been a challenge to get a company up and running without power, water and with the communication’s system down and also provide the necessary support for my family.  One of my most significant challenges is understanding directs behavior and to find the right tools to manage them. The aftermaths of the hurricane have to make it more difficult, but I’m confident I’ll be able to learn the necessary tools on how to become a better manager and a better leader for my Team. I genuinely want to be more than a manager but a mentor.

I want my legacy to impact other people’s lives and to make my country a better one to live. 

When I was in high school, they tested us to assess our skillset and find the areas where we excelled. I discovered I had proficiency on the financial side of the business and developing the people in the industry. So, when I entered college, I majored in Finance with a minor in Human Resources. I was good with numbers and enjoyed success in the early part of my career in accounting and eventually, got promoted to a controller. My passion for learning and to share what I have learned enabled my growth through the ranks of Today's Satellite Television. I can tell that I love what I do.

I received my BBA Degree with a major in Finance and a minor in Human Resources from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. 

Personally, my biggest challenge was raising two boys as a single mother while developing a career that would support all of us, balancing work and life responsibilities. Professionally, my challenges were not only being a woman in a male-dominated industry but being a young woman in a workplace where older, more experienced people surrounded me.

I am organized and have an unquenchable thirst for learning everything I can from everybody. I believe that everyone has something to teach us. Learning from people helps me to keep humble. I am passionate about my work and have a desire to share information with everyone on my Team.

In my personal life, I would have to say it is raising my two boys and providing them with an education. They have grown to be two fine young men, my oldest is a senior in college, and my youngest has just started his college journey. In my career, it is where I am today as General Manager. The company I have joined in 2010, where I have learned about the business and the communication industry and worked my way up the ranks to the role I have today with the confidence of the CEO and with a board of directors who are comfortable with my abilities.       

I want to become a CEO. I love to teach and look forward to working more closely with more people and sharing my knowledge and successes to empower them. 

In different stages of my life, I have had various people who inspired me to do more, learn more and be more, but I believe my real inspiration came from something inside of me. When I was in college, I looked around and asked myself, "what am I doing here?" I am from a small village on the western side of the Island and felt like I was less than other from big cities. The only thing that would put me on a level playing field was learning and gaining knowledge. Because armed with the same education I would be able to do anything they could do! Once I gained my experience no one would be able to take that from me. Been humbled gave me the knowledge and my love to learn and even more, love to teach and share my experience with everyone. 

I hope to be remembered as a humble woman, who shared her knowledge and experience to help others. I want to be known as a loving and supportive mother.

I am a volunteer teacher for high school and college teachers.

I love relaxing, traveling, and visiting my family.
