About me
My name is Erika Landau, MD and I was born and educated in Romania with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Fine Arts. I completed my medical education and Pediatric training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I have completed a research fellowship at the Rockefeller University. After serving as Director of Foster Care at the Children's Aid Society, I started my private practice in 1999. I am also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at The Mount Sinai Medical Center and I am on faculty at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. My medical interest include child abuse, violence, clinical research and chronic illness. I am a renowned lecturer and I have published many articles, both national and international on these topics. I have also co-authored my book "The Essential Guide to Baby's First Year" in 2011.
About my company
My company is Pediatrics of New York and we are the leading provider of pediatric care on the Upper East Side in New York City. We provide pediatric health care to children of all ages, from newborn to 21 years of age. We are open 6 days a week and there is always a doctor on call for emergencies. We are conveniently located on East 86th Street between 5th and Madison Avenues. We are affiliated with The Mount Sinai Medical Center. This academic affiliation assures the most up to date and scientific approach to all aspects of pediatric care. We are proud to be an integral part in the lives of our patients and their families.
I chose this career path because
I chose this career path because I've always wanted to be a doctor since I was a child. I love working with children as well as being a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at The Mount Sinai Medical Center and being on faculty at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

Dr. Erika Landau graduated from Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy. I completed my medical education and pediatric training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. I have completed a research fellowship at the Rockefeller University.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
My biggest challenge is balancing and juggling work, family, friends and my social life.
My greatest strength(s)
My greatest strength is being part of my patients' lives from the minute they are born until they go to college. I also stay up to date with my education.
My greatest accomplishment to date
My greatest accomplishment is my daughter who is studying for her Ph.D. in Psychology.
My personal/professional goals
My vision is to continue to take care of my patients, teach and speak at conferences throughout the world.
What/Who has inspired me the most
My inspiration comes from my parents who are surviviors of the Holocaust. They are unbelievably strong individuals.
I most want to be known/remembered for
I want to be remembered for the changes I made in my patients lives and their families.

I am a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Women Physicians, and the New York Pediatric Society.

I have received many art awards coming in first place in many Art Exhibits. I received the New York Care Award, Best Teacher Award and Excellence in Education.
I support the missions of these charities/volunteer my time
I support Susan B. Komen and I am a breast cancer survivor. I also support I Volunteer and Daniel's Music which provides Music Therapy with people with brain trauma.
I enjoy the following hobbies/interests
I enjoy painting, reading, exercising, dancing, cooking, theatre, yoga, skiing and spending time with my family and daughter.
