I went into nursing 24 years ago because I have a passion for helping people and medicine fascinates me.

I received a BSN in Nursing and Military Science from Middle Tennessee State University and then continued on to receive several certifications while nursing. 

I am a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN), a Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN) and of course a Registered Nurse (RN).

I find the biggest challenge about being a woman is being taken seriously.

My greatest strengths include being organized and paying attention to detail. I also have a strong ability to problem solve.

My greatest accomplishment was taking that step to get my first certification - my CCRN. I had heard it was difficult so I avoided taking it for along time. Once I took it I realized it was not that hard and now I encourage others to get certified.

This year my role has changed within the company. They are using me more and more as a resource in Hospice, and so my goal is to continue to grow my knowledge base and be recognized as an expert in Hospice and Palliative care. I plan to keep on moving forward and upward in my career.

My thirst for knowledge is what inspires me, along with having a great mentor.

I want to be remembered as a genuinely good person.

I love to hunt and fish and spend time with my 6 Labrador Retrievers. I am also a a huge Boston Bruins fan.
