Dr. Denise Lindheim, Ed.D.
I chose this career path because
I guess I went into education because I am the offspring of my mother, a retired elementary teacher, and my father, a retired business education teacher. That was a strong influence, as well as, having had the opportunity to travel as an exchange student in High School. Teaching and helping other teachers become instructional leaders are my passions.
I prepared for this career by
I received a Bachelor's in Secondary Education (Social Sciences) from Youngstown State University and a Master's in Educational Leadership and Administration from Nova Southeastern University. I then received my Doctorate in Education (Organizational Leadership) from Nova Southeastern University. Additionally, I have several certifications from the State of Florida in Administration and Leadership, Principalship (Pre-K - 12 grade), Social Sciences (Grade 6-12, and Gifted (Pre-K-12th Grade). I am currently pursuing a certification in Special Needs.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
My greatest challenge is achieving balance between my career, family, and community participation.
My greatest strength(s)
I am an excellent listener and I have a great deal of patience. Due to those qualities, I am able to help people, whether that be a teacher needing help to improve her plans or a parent who is frustrated.
My greatest accomplishment to date
My greatest accomplishment is that I am the mother of 3 amazing children.
My personal/professional goals
I want to be a part of educational policy change in Florida on the state level. I also want to become more involved in organizations as an executive member, not just a member.
What/Who has inspired me the most
I am inspired by my students and positive growth. I am inspired by being part of change and the forward movement of educational policies.
I most want to be known/remembered for
I want to be remembered as someone who was passionate about the well-being of others, my love of God, and my family. By putting those things first the rest will always fall into place.
