I chose this career path because

I guess I went into education because I am the offspring of my mother, a retired elementary teacher, and my father, a retired business education teacher. That was a strong influence, as well as, having had the opportunity to travel as an exchange student in High School. Teaching and helping other teachers become instructional leaders are my passions.

I prepared for this career by

I received a Bachelor's in Secondary Education (Social Sciences) from Youngstown State University and a Master's in Educational Leadership and Administration from Nova Southeastern University.  I then received my Doctorate in Education (Organizational Leadership) from Nova Southeastern University. Additionally, I have several certifications from the State of Florida in Administration and Leadership, Principalship (Pre-K - 12 grade), Social Sciences (Grade 6-12, and Gifted (Pre-K-12th Grade). I am currently pursuing a certification in Special Needs.

The biggest challenge I've overcome

My greatest challenge is achieving balance between my career, family, and community participation.

My greatest strength(s)

I am an excellent listener and I have a great deal of patience. Due to those qualities, I am able to help people, whether that be a teacher needing help to improve her plans or a parent who is frustrated.

My greatest accomplishment to date

My greatest accomplishment is that I am the mother of 3 amazing children.

My personal/professional goals

I want to be a part of educational policy change in Florida on the state level. I also want to become more involved in organizations as an executive member, not just a member.

What/Who has inspired me the most

I am inspired by my students and positive growth. I am inspired by being part of change and the forward movement of educational policies.

I most want to be known/remembered for

I want to be remembered as someone who was passionate about the well-being of others, my love of God, and my family. By putting those things first the rest will always fall into place.

I participate in the following organizations/memberships
