I chose this career path to represent underrepresented students who needed a voice.

In preparation for my career I received my BA in Education and went on to receive my MA in Counseling.

The biggest challenge I've overcome was working with my peers. They are mostly minorities, as well the students. My co-directors were very skeptical of my ability to relate to the students and really care about their futures. In time I proved to them that was dedicated to caring and loving my job as well as the students.

My greatest strength is being a leader, my mentoring skills and all the knowledge I have accumulated after twenty-four years in this field.

My greatest accomplishment is letting my students know that they have the ability to accomplish and succeed at anything they want to achieve.

I am retiring in August  2017,  and I plan to spend more time with my five children and eleven grandchildren. Additionally, I hope to work with High School students in the Syracuse City School District to help prepare them for the next step in their education.

I was, and continue to be, inspired to help by realizing that many children are neglected and need guidance, love and caring.

I most want to be remembered for being a good mother to my five children and all the other children that have crossed my path who I was able to help.

I am a partner in the professional organization HEOP.

I enjoy my family, reading and exercising with my dogs.
