I worked for Levi Strauss leading the Database and Middleware teams of their large IT department. After 15 years, they outsourced their IT department and I needed to find something else. I was attending workshops and trainings in Leadership and other areas, to further develop myself professionally, when someone at my church said a friend mentioned that there was a job available at Energy Future Holdings (which is Vistra Energy). I went for the interview and landed the job and have been here ever since!

I became certified through a Leadership training course that I took through Evanta. I took IT focused training and became Lean/Six Sigma Cert through Expert Ratings and then ITIL through the ITSM Academy.

Through Strayer University I took over 3 years of coursework towards a BA in Business and Management.

Early on in my career, the biggest challenge was balancing my my career and family. Now the challenge is being an influencing source and fighting for air as the only woman on the IT leadership team.

My strengths are my abilities to build relationships, and coach and mentor others, especially women, on how to navigate the corporation. I am also heavily involved in the Technology Development Program and helped to develop programs to develop soft skills for high potential and high performing employees.

My greatest accomplishments include the fact that I am now recognized for my influence and my reputation within my organization and that I sit at the table on the Technology Development Program and report to the CIO.

Looking toward the future, I would like to create a roll out to another area of the organization that focuses on managing development training so we have a focused view in order to align training with the entire IT Strategy of the company and create employee engagement and development. Right now we are in the talking phase of doing this.

My desire to always continue to learn and grow inspires me.

I want to be remembered for the high trust relationships that I built.

I love traveling. I have horses and I love riding, it is great therapy! I also love running and exercising.
