I recently retired from the US Army 1st Air Cavalry Brigade as a First Sergeant, ending a distinguished 29 year career. I answered a calling when I enlisted and was truly passionate about honoring my commitment not only to those I served, but to the people I led and commanded as well .Bringing people together and following the lives of my soldiers and their successes matter to me and I was looking for a way to transition from Military life to Civilian life. So, I joined the Association where I now serve as Executive Director, and have found the perfect place to use my skills.

My military service as a leader and I received my Bachelor's Degree from Texas A&M, and an Associates Degree from Excelsior University in Military Applications.

Now, I am a woman in a male dominated veterans endowment association and the military rising through the ranks, I was the woman in the military. I have always been able to the the job assigned and will continue to do so!

Making changes to flow of the Annual Veteran's Day Events in Washington D.C.  has been so well received and attended since I became involved. I Iam proud of establishing reunions for the Veterans that keep evolving and getting bigger and better and more far reaching! before I began my military career I studied and worked briefly in the hospitality field and it is great to incorporate those skills to create a memorable and more meaning full experience for our men and women who served. 

Staying in my role and continuing to create awareness and enjoying the purposeful, worthwhile job I have to help the Veterans and reach as many as I can and to grow the Association. 

It was the soldiers that I led that inspired me to keep going and taking care of them and their families whether in combat or now as a retired officer. 

An engaged leader with passion for soldiers and for passing on that passion to the Veterans and their families.
