I love helping people and making a difference, so I am drawn to any career in which I do just that.

The story starts that I bought a farm in Upstate New York, and hired a CPA to do a depreciation on it. I had this nagging feeling that their calculation was off, and I was inspired to take a class at H&R Block. I wound up working for them, starting as a Tax Consultant. I worked my way up to corporate, and eventually bought an H&R Block franchise, which I grew from 3,400 to 6,500 clients in 3 years!

In 2005, corporate H&R Block bought my franchise, and I decided to go out on my own terms.

My love is doing tax consulting for small business and start-ups, and I went on to start Centsible Solutions, LLC. I provide opportunities for qualified investors to achieve ownership in professionally property-managed, medium sized, Class B & C multi-family properties in emerging markets. I specialize in finding currently cash flowing properties with value-add opportunities to force appreciation of the asset. I also do public speaking and seminars, educating others on taxes - my next one is "So You Want to be in Business".

I was a farm girl, got a divorce, and was flying by the seat of my pants. I took training through H&R Block, the IRS and obtained my Broker's Licence in Securities and Insurance. I learned a lot along the way through experience.

My biggest challenge has been working and dealing with other women, as I have found that they are very competitive. Men have made better allies. I also have difficulty in recruiting young employees because I find that so many of them lack a great work ethic.

My greatest strengths are my work ethic, my relationships with people and selecting the right people for the right job.

Raising three highly successful girls has been my greatest accomplishment. Second to that, hiring and mentoring a foreign exchange student who went on to become a CPA in Sweden is something I am proud of!

I will never retire - I like people too much! I plan on doing some volunteer work and more seminars for small business owners. 

My Grandma has been a great inspiration for me. She only had an 8th grade education, but was such an intelligent women and wrote several history books. I also was inspired, or perhaps motivated, by my father who nagged me for "never sticking to anything long enough" - I have been in tax consulting for 47 years!

I want to be remembered for my love of people, my ambition, and for always watching out for the "little guy".

I received an award from Orange County Vocational Tech for teaching kids how to prepare taxes.
