My first career was as a travel agent for 27 years through American Express Travel. Then a friend suggested I sign up for a position as a security officer for the L.A. Convention Center. I got the job and did security for concerts, home shows and exhibits. The most exciting event I did security for was the 1984 Olympic swim trials. I moved to Florida in 2005 to be near my elderly parents. I now work in the evenings at Freedom Village as a security officer.

I prepared for this career by going through the necessary security training which gave me a license in Florida.

Some of the challenges I had was as a girl growing up in the 1950's. I wanted to be in theater and go to The American Academy of Dramatic Art.  That was frowned upon by my parents who thought I should get married. I eventually went out on my own and did go to the Academy. 

I am a good communicator and listener. I was always told I was very good at counseling and still want to pursue that career.

My greatest accomplishment to date has been getting very involved in the church. I wanted to be more involved so I went to the New York Theology Seminary. Once I became a minister, I went to Memorial Sloan Kettering to counsel and pray with patients. Allowing them to talk and vent was my greatest and most fulfilling achievement.

My goal is to go back to school for counseling. I will keep working as well until retirement.

I am inspired by helping people.

I most want to be remembered as a good person who listened to others and would always be there for anyone who needed help. 

One of my favorite things to do is ballroom dancing. I also enjoy sailing.
