About me
Cathleen Ursula Gruetzner is currently serving as the Regional Secretary for the South Central FRA.
I chose this career path because
She chose this career path because she always wanted to help people. After retiring from the military after 26 years, this was an opportunity to use her skills with a group of volunteers and organize parties for them.
I prepared for this career by
She prepared for her career by obtaining her Associate of Business from Austin Community College and training within the United States Military and the United States Postal Service.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
The biggest challenge was getting the necessary funding for the marines so that they could receive the education and training that they needed.
My greatest strength(s)
Her greatest strengths are in public speaking, educational formats, cooking and using her imagination.
My greatest accomplishment to date
Her greatest accomplishment to date is watching the cadets grow in the military and have successful and fulling careers in many industries.
My personal/professional goals
Her professional goals are to grow on a personal and professional level, continue to do community and charity work, volunteer and to give back.
What/Who has inspired me the most
Her inspiration comes from her faith.
I most want to be known/remembered for
She wants to be remembered for making people laugh and enjoy life.
I participate in the following organizations/memberships
She participates in the Veterans of Foreign Wars and The German Historical Society, Texas. She is currently the Vice President of Fleet Reserve Association-Capitol Area Branch 201 and Vice President of the Women Marine Association-Heart of Texas Chapter (5).
I have received the following Honors/Awards/Scholarships
She has received the following awards from Biltmore Who's Who: Executive of the Year, Recognition of Service Award, Rose Garden Freedom Award and various recognition certificates.
I support the missions of these charities/volunteer my time
She supports and volunteers at Texas German Heritage Museum, Friends of Alpine Public Library, the Lutheran Women Ministry League, Dress for Success Austin, Fleet Reserve Association, Women Marine Association-Heart of Texas and various other community activities. She is also involved in community theater for the children and the Living Love Animal Rescue Shelter.
I enjoy the following hobbies/interests
She enjoys cooking and the festivals at Wendish Heritage Society and the Texas Military Forces Museum.
