I chose a career in social work because I had a difficult life and I wanted to help people to enjoy a better life and live better than I did. 

I received my LMSW degree from LSU and was a LISW;. I left the field for a while and worked in the non profit world,  where I was a Shelter director at a no Kill Shelter. I worked selling insurance and real estate as well.  I have a great background on the psychiatric side of social work. 

Abuse. I had to learn how to live with it. As an administrator in the field it was hard to watch the lack of resources and time available for clients. Re-entering the field, it is hard to watch what is going on today administratively and the methodology for treating patients. 

Compassion is for sure my greatest attribute as well as my strength and a basic understanding of people and the wisdom I have acquired through my own life experiences.

It is seeing the people who who I supervised who went on to do bigger and better things, like the woman who became a doctor.  I am proud to have survived the abuse and being mildly dyslexic to enjoy my career.

Beat the cancer and  return to my full strength so I can continue to counsel and help people .  Promote my book and maybe even write another one!

Inspiration for me comes from my love of life.  I  have a genuine love for people and helping them to expand and enhance their life. I love nature and the envionment.

My book says it all, still I rise!
