I was in college studying history and philosophy when I discovered accounting and feel in love with it. I love accounting because it is the way a company tells it's story.

I began my early career working in the International Currency Exchange as an Accountant. 20 years ago, I accepted a position with Clifford Chance LLP and have been here ever since. I have held the position of Credit Control Manager for the past 18 years. 

I received my B.A. in Geography and History from Universidad de Valladolid, and went on to I teach for about 6 years at a secondary school and then taught Spanish as a second language. When I made the decision to pursue a career in business, I completed the Executive Management Program through the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and received my certification as a Chartered Accountant through the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

My biggest challenge was studying and pursuing accounting as a second career in the UK, being both a woman and a foreigner.

I am very persistent and determined. I spent a lot of time and money on my personal and professional development which has helped with the ability to handle and manage a variety of situations in the workplace.

My greatest accomplishment was successfully starting a second career at age 29, and completing my education despite being a woman, a foreigner, and now knowing a word of English when I started out. The successes I have had in accountancy is what I am most proud of.

I want to continue growing and learning in other areas, investigate new learning theories to stay relevant, and update my skills in legal areas and other areas outside of legal as far as accounting is concerned.

I am already working on this by taking advanced Excel course - it is our basic tool. Then, I am looking to take courses in PowerPoint and Internal Auditing.

My own ambition for learning  and growing inspires me.

I hope I will be remembered as selfless and for helping and contributing to other people's development and learning.
