Annette Berry is a judge of the 3rd Circuit Court (Criminal Division) in Wayne County, Michigan. Berry was elected to this position in November of 2000.[1] She was re-elected in 2006 and 2012 and her current term expires on January 1, 2019.

Berry received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn (1983) and her Juris Doctor from Michigan State University Law School (formerly the Detroit College of Law).

Berry began her career as an Assistant Attorney General in Michigan. There she served as legal counsel for the Departments of: Licensing and Regulation, Education, Consumer and Industry Affairs (Insurance and Banking Division), and the Secretary of State. She worked for almost eight years as a prosecutor in the Criminal Division, where she specialized in white collar, economic and conspiracy crimes. She was also the chief prosecutor for gaming prosecutions from Detroit casinos during that time. She was elected to the circuit court in 2000. In 2011, she became the President of the Michigan Judges Association. She also teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and the Ave Maria School of Law in Florida.

I chose this career path because of my passion for law and bringing justice to the world.

I prepared for this career with my education.  I attended law school at the Detroit College of Law.  

My challenges have been small, considering I am a woman with lots of energy.  I have been able to overcome.

My greatest strengths are patience, compassion and a good listener.  

My greatest accomplishment has been working up to my position as a judge.

My goals are to mentor young ladies and to help them achieve their goals. 

Both my parents have been my inspiration.  My father was in public service as well.

I want to be remembered for being an excellent mother.  I also want to be remembered for being most conscientious and hardworking. 

I participate with the Father Kern Foundation at my church.

I was the past president of Michigan Judges Association.  I received the Guardian of Justice Award in 2010.  

I support Jr. Achievement. I am also involved with the Boys Scouts and the Girls Scouts. 

I love to volunteer.  I also love to teach.  I am an Adjunct Professor at the University of Michigan.
