The Human Resources Department will be recognized for inspiring all employees to achieve professional and personal excellence that will result in making a difference in the lives of our students.
I chose this career path because
I have always been drawn to the field. I knew from a young age that Human Resources and now Human Capital was the field I would enter. I want to help others become all that they can be; to make the different that only they can make.
I prepared for this career by
I received a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Behavior from Nova Southeastern University, a Master's in Human Resource Development (MHRD) from Clemson University and Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology and Education from Lander University.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
There have been many, too many to really pin point the most significant; however, continuing my education while working full-time and raising a son as a single mother has to be my greatest achievement. I am very proud of my son!
My greatest strength(s)
A very important strength that I pull from daily is the legal component, Labor Law, investigations, organizational behavior and development. Additionally, I enjoy strategic planning regarding organizational change and growth - the organization as well as the employees, on a continuum.
My greatest accomplishment to date
I am very proud of many things for which I have been a part. In terms of "greatest accomplishment" to date, I would say certainly raising my son to see him become a successful young man is first.
Career wise, attaining a terminal degree and moving forward with research and development projects to design, develop, implement, and evaluate many programs for the adult learner is at the top of the list. I enjoy research and love concept design and process.
My personal/professional goals
My professional goal is to be an independent contractor or Professor at a University or perhaps someday become a Superintendent for public education. I know this, whatever the answer to this question is, I will know - I will know because I am focused on making the right decisions in the small things in life and everything lines up accordingly.
What/Who has inspired me the most
I am inspired by knowing that I made a difference and I know where I should be. I need a challenge.
I most want to be known/remembered for
I want to be remembered as a person who helped people and organizations to get to the place, having the skills and the ability to help others grow in their abilities.
I participate in the following organizations/memberships
I am a member of the International Teachers Advisory Board, the Society for Human Resource Management and the American Association of School Administration.
