Since a teenager I always wanted to help people and enjoyed the hospital setting, so much so, that I became a Candy Striper! I have been in the medical field for 22 years and started my own practice, The Children's Skin Center. I got into dermatology because I love it - it is visual and I have a good eye for it. I never second guessed my path and I am where I want to be.

I received my MD from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine and I was a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and of The American Academy of Pediatrics. I am now a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dermatology and of The Academy of Dermatology. I am Boarded in Pediatric Dermatology and Dermatology.

Now that women are more welcomed in the medical field, that aspect of it is thankfully no longer as challenging as it once was. The biggest challenge that I have overcome is juggling my personal life, family and work.

My strength is that I have found my niche and specialize in Children's Dermatology - I am passionate about what I do and I love working with children. I make patient care my #1 priority. I would also say that my education, knowledge, and supportive mentors, along with my personality, are all strengths of mine. .

I feel being Chief of Dermatology at Nicholas Children's Hospital (formerly Miami Children's Hospital) for 22 years and running a practice for 22 years are great accomplishments. Also, last year I received 2016, Doctor of the Year from the Vascular Birthmark Foundation.

I grow more enthusiastic each year and continue to expand and bring new technology to my practice. My vision is to continue to expand and present state of the art medical care for my patients' skin conditions, to develop my staff and leave a legacy of excellence after I am done developing a strong Children's Skin Center. In order to do this I am constantly updating technology and our skills and remain active in my field.

My love of helping people and making a difference in their lives inspires me the most.

I want to be remembered an a great mom, an awesome grandmother, and a great physician. I want my legacy to be the Children's Skin Center.
