She chose to follow this career path because she wanted the opportunity to found the think tank.

She prepared for this career by receiving a Bachelor of Arts in economics and mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has a Master of Arts in economic development from the Université Paris-Sorbonne. She also holds a Ph.D. in labor economics from Vanderbilt University.

The biggest challenge she has overcome has been founding the DIW DC.

Her greatest strengths are in the areas of labor, economics and research migration. 

Her greatest accomplishment to date has been starting the DIW DC, a nonprofit institute for educational purposes and publishes accurate information. She is also one of the editors of the IZA Journal of Migration, which is published by Stringer.

Her personal/professional goals include continuing in the area of education and working with students and interns. She will continue to teach at George Washington University and devote more time to academia. She will also continue to write policy briefs and produce results for policy makers.

She is inspired by her husband and father.

She wants be remembered for being an unconventional researcher working on the frontier, and fighting for the causes of research and education. 

She participates in the American  Economic Association and the Society of Government Economists. She is also on the board for AIRLEAP.

She is an honored member of Cambridge Who's Who and the National Association of Professional Women.

She supports the missions of the following charities: the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Orchestra Association, the Opera Circle and the Museum of Art in Philadelphia.

She enjoys attending the symphony orchestra and visiting the museum.
