I chose this career path because
I decided to go into medical sales after working as a perfusionist. As a perfusionist I worked in the hospital operating the heart-lung machine during heart surgery.
I prepared for this career by
For my career as a perfusionist, I received my B.S. in Perfusion Technology from Duquesne University and then became a Certified Clinical Perfusionist. As far as my career in medical sales, much of what I was exposed to during my career as a perfusionist prepared me. The first hand knowledge I have about the medical field set me apart from others in my industry.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
The biggest challenge I've face professionally, is being respected by the men in my field. Thankfully, I have now solidified my position and don't have as much as a challenge in that regard.
My greatest strength(s)
My greatest strength is my knowledge of the products I sell. As importantly, my customers know that I am very reliable and trustworthy.
My greatest accomplishment to date
My greatest accomplishment is my family. I have two young children and a wonderful family life.
My personal/professional goals
My professional goal is to get into a management role. I have been in my position for six months and need more experience before moving up.
What/Who has inspired me the most
I am inspired because I love what I do. I am a clinician at heart and that directly impacts the products that I sell. I love helping clinicians to better help and care for their patients.
I most want to be known/remembered for
Very simply, I want to be remembered for being a good person.
