I chose this career path because
I chose this career because I care about helping people. I thought about doing something else, but after praying this became a calling for me.
I prepared for this career by
I received my Master of Science in nursing as a family nurse practitioner in 2006, as well as a Bachelor of Science in nursing.
The biggest challenge I've overcome
My biggest challenge as an FNP are the regulations, which are different in each state, as well as the legislative issues there are in being a full practice.
My greatest strength(s)
My greatest strength is providing front line health care.
My greatest accomplishment to date
My greatest accomplishment is running my own business which has doubled in size and my two children. My daughter is attending medical school and my son is majoring in music.
My personal/professional goals
My professional goal is to continue in my practice and when my daughter finishes medical school she will be taking on the practice. I also want to continue to be involved with the Advance Practice Association in counseling for the Mississippi chapter.
What/Who has inspired me the most
I am inspired by doing what I do and seeing people getting better.
I most want to be known/remembered for
I want to be remembered as a person who cared about human life.
I participate in the following organizations/memberships
I am a member of the American Nurses Association, the Advance Practice Association and the NFIB.
I support the missions of these charities/volunteer my time
I support the local community and the schools.

I enjoy travel, Broadway shows and helping with the animals on the farm.
